SUMMARY:JFRD Event - Hurricane/Storm Preparedness and the Importance of Smoke Detectors (and a fire truck will be at the event!)
DESCRIPTION:JFRD will be speaking to residents on what we can do in Saddlewood to help them respond faster in the event of a hurricane or storm.  Downed trees\, limbs and fences can mean the difference in responding in seconds to minutes or even hours. \nJFRD will also be providing tips on the importance of smoke detector maintenance\, replacements and checking that they are operational on a regular basis.  They will also be providing City resource recommendations that can help with smoke detectors if residents are unable to reach high places in their homes or otherwise need assistance to replace. \nA fire truck will be at the event as well!  (note:  assuming they are not responding to a call elsewhere during the event).

SUMMARY:Community Clean Up Day!! Come Join Us!! Meet at Saddlewood Park at 8 AM!!
DESCRIPTION:Saddlewood is partnering with Collect and Connect to clean up the trash and litter along Starratt Road in front of the wall from Publix to Avery Park! \nThe clean up will start at 8 AM.  Trash bags and latex gloves will be provided.  A few grabbers will be available\, but if you have some at home\, please bring them with you in case we run short. \nCollect and Connect is leading a movement to beautify our area one trash bag at a time.  Since the group formed they’ve collected over 4 TONS of trash and were honored by the City of Jacksonville for their efforts in Oceanway.  Amazing work! \nYouth that need community service hours will be signed off if they work from 8 – 10 AM\, with a parent.  This is a great way to earn hours and beautify Starratt road\, which is the first impression before turning into our community. \n  \n
